TAMIL NADU ADI DRAVIDAR WELFARE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME.
Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department are implementing various educational scholarship schemes for the students. The main objective is to provide a quality education to socially backward SC people to ensure Socio-Economic, Educational Development, Social respect, and self-reliance.
The scholarship is provided for students studying from 11th Class. The annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
For Scholars of the Day: Monthly assistance of Rs 230 and maintenance allowance Rs 550.
For Hostellers: Monthly assistance of Rs 380 and maintenance allowance Rs 1200.
The scholarship will be credited in the accounts of students studying in self-financing colleges.
Depending on the course of the students, the maintenance allowance is a credit to their bank account.
POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR ST STUDENTS
Scholarships are paid to students whose parents’/guardians’ income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum
All children of the same parents/guardian are eligible
Scheduled Tribe candidates who have passed the matriculation or higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education are eligible.
The scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend. Students who have received coaching in any of the pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Government will not be eligible.
‘POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES
The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.
PRAGATI – SCHOLARSHIP FOR GIRL STUDENTS
To provide encouragement and support to Girl Child to pursue Technical Education “Pragati Scholarship” has been launched by the MHRD.
‘One Girl’ per family and it can be extended for Two Girl Child per family where the family income is less than Rs. 8 Lakh /annum (In case of married girl child, the income of parents/ in laws whichever is higher is to be considered).
The candidates will be selected on Merit at the qualifying examination to pursue technical education from amongst such candidates. The candidates should have been admitted to 1st year of the Diploma programme.
Amount of scholarship: Tuition Fee of Rs. 30000/- or at actual, whichever is less and Rs. 2000/- per month for 10 months as incidentals each year. In case of candidates availing Tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, and amount of Rs.30000/- may be reimbursed to the candidates selected for this scheme by the way of reimbursement for

- Purchase of equipments, software
- Purchase of Laptops.
- Purchase of Desktops
- Purchase of Vehicle
- Fees paid towards competitive examination application forms/exam fees for all examinations related to higher education.
PUTHUMAIPEN
The Government of TamilNadu has launched Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme to enhance the enrolment ratio of girls from Government schools to Higher Education Institutions. Through this scheme, the financial assistance of Rs. 1000/month will be provided to the girls. The incentive amount under this scheme will be disbursed directly into the student’s Bank Account.
